It has been seven years since YG Entertainment launched a girl group, and the day is drawing near when it will showcase its new girl group.

BLACKPINK will debut in the afternoon of August 8 in a debut showcase. The members of BLACKPINK will stand before the public for the first time, and their debut single will be officially released at 8 PM on the same day.

On July 29, YG announced that BLACKPINK will debut at 8 PM on August 8. Since then, it has posted teaser images and countdown posters as well as new about the group’s music videos and first appearance on TV on its official blog.

BLACKPINK’s debut single and music video will be revealed for the first time during the showcase. In addition, they will be doing a live show on Naver V App to communicate more effectively with the fans.

YG’s main producer TEDDY, who also produced a number of hit songs for 2NE1 and BIGBANG, has been given the task of writing, composing, and directing all the songs of BLACKPINK. It’s no wonder that people are expecting high quality music.

TEDDY also came to see BLACKPINK when they were shooting their music videos to offer them advice and gave support. BLACKPINK’s music and music videos will surely be something different and reflect each member’s unique personality.

Members of BLACKPINK have all gone through rigorous training at YG, and they have honed their skills by collaborating with various YG artists even before their debut. Teaser images of BLACKPINK have been released.

At 3 PM on August 3, YG Entertainment posted teaser images of BLACKPINK on its official blog in the run up to the girl group’s debut, making the fans anticipate their debut even more.

In one of the teaser images, all the members of BLACKPINK stand side by side in a pinkish background. They gave off their charm to the fullest by standing in different poses. Another image shows the perfect figures of BLACKPINK members as they pose with their backs towards the camera.

In the morning of the same day, YG released a pictorial of ROSÉ. In the pictorial, ROSÉ looks innocent and dreamy-like in a white t-shirt and a jean jacket. She has her long brown hair down and is looking straight at the camera.

ROSÉ is the main vocalist of BLACKPINK and has featured on G-DRAGON’s solo songs. She was raised abroad and is good at playing the guitar.

A YG official commented, “ROSÉ’s dad thought his daughter, who was 15 at the time, had great talent and sent an audition video to YG. That’s how she joined YG as a trainee. Her family still lives abroad, and only ROSÉ started living in Korea when she was 15 and began her life as an YG trainee. She is now the main vocalist of BLACKPINK.”

BLACKPINK is a four-member group that has JENNIE, JISOO, LISA, and ROSÉ as its members. YG’s main producer TEDDY, who also produced a number of hit songs for 2NE1 and BIGBANG, has been given the task of writing, composing, and directing all the songs of BLACKPINK. The group has recently finished shooting all the videos, and it is said that four choreographer from abroad are in charge of making the choreography of their debut single. YG has released their debut countdown poster for BLACKPINK through the official blog at 10AM today.

D-5's poster features the innocent yet dream-like image of BLACKPINK's eye-catching member ROSÉ. ROSÉ rocks a white shirt and denim jacket ensemble along with her long light brown hair.

On July 29th, the official website posted a teaser that reveals that their debut date is on the 8th of August. BLACKPINK has received a lot of attention from fans and with their debut countdown starting, expectations has further heightened. With ROSE's poster image, new images of the other members are expected by fans to be published  in the following days before debut.

BLACKPINK's four members completed by JENNIE, JISOO, LISA, and ROSÉ will have Teddy as their main producer who's responsible for numerous hits for BIGBANG and 2NE1. The group has already finished shooting the music video and has polished choreography created by 4 famous foreign choreographers, therefore expectations are high for their music and their stage performances.

BLACKPINK has been in the making for 6 long years with the average age of 19 years old. A talented group that has trained an intense 4 years and are debuting on the 8th.
